In the famous words sung by Sam Cooke, change is certainly gonna come and it’s time for a change here at Guffly. Starting today, Guffly will now feature a Daily Guff three days a week instead of five. Don’t cry, it’s all good. We’re streamlining during our not-as-busy-season in efforts to make this thing last the long haul (did you know Guffly is only 6 months old? To us it seems like an eternity…or are we not supposed to acknowledge that…opps?!). You’ll still be able to shop the cool products in our Top Guffs as well as see the latest Guffly finds on our Daily Guff page every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
We’re continuing to search out the best independent suppliers with creative, stylish, and modern eco-friendly or fair-trade goods. You can still also take advantage of our month of completely FREE SHIPPING. That’s love right there (especially from a small company).
Thanks for your support. Peace!
The team @ Guffly

Back to the Daily Guff by popular demand are the Fair Trade Shoes but this time it is the High Top Fair Trade Shoes! These awesome kicks are brought to us by The People’s Shoe founded by Anton Brandt.
Anton discovered The People’s Shoe while in Shanghai working in public relations and we’re glad he did. The white and blue canvas sneakers are standard issue work wear in the country. Anton saw an opportunity to bring these eco-friendly shoes to the rest of the world and now they’re on the Daily Guff!
The company manufacturers in China (before you scream, keep reading…) and they spend a lot of time in the factory checking in on product quality and more importantly, workplace quality. They ensure that all workers get paid a living wage, the work conditions are fair and accommodating, and everyone is of age to be working in the factory. They also avoid the use of polybags during each step of their process and package their shoes in reusable totes instead of shoeboxes. We don’t doubt that this is a huge undertaking but it is a necessary one to be good to the planet and the people.
On top of all that, each pair purchased also contributes to LA Mission, and organization that fights homelessness and drug use in LA’s Skid Row. The People’s Shoe says, “We’re setting our sights high: donating money, sneakers, and planning an event to get the word out.” Right on.

Sport a pair of these incredibly stylish, eco-friendly, fair trade shoes and make people turn and look because they truly are unique. Get yours on the Daily Guff: http://guffly.com/

Please welcome the Toggery Louis Pashmina to the Daily Guff! This great little piece of eco fashion comes to us from Toggery founded by Kate D’Arcy. Toggery is a line of organic clothing for the new age consumer. We are totally on board with that and love this pashmina!
With a passion for fashion and a dream of creating a collection of essential pieces, Kate decided to not only create a collection of beautifully stylish pieces but to be environmentally responsible in how they are made. Using in her styles 100% organic cotton, sustainable fabrics such as Modal and bamboo fibers, the entire collection is produced by a certified socially responsible apparel manufacturer right here in the USA. The line boasts not only beautiful colors but classic, easy to wear styles that transition from casual to dressy and from season to season. The clothes are a special blend of contemporary design with environmentally conscious fabrics. They are soft and luxurious, flattering to the figure and a smart choice for the fashionable.
We thought we could debut the collect on Guffly with this great pashmina (it’s the same thing as a scarf if you don’t know what we’re talking about). Get your eco-style on with the Daily Guff: http://guffly.com/

Today’s rad Bamboo Blend Zip Up Hoodie comes to the Daily Guff from the Satori Movement. They strive to use hemp, bamboo, and organic fibers as much as possible. We agree – building a sustainable future is a must!
Here’s the story:

Over a decade, Satori has grown and currently designs and produces a full line of men’s and women’s(Divine Movement) apparel and accessories while bringing sustainable initiatives and innovations into skateboarding.
In conjunction with our family of professional riders, Satori Movement encourages greater sustainable awareness in the Skate/Surf community by integrating its eco minded soft goods into local skate shops while also expanding the Movement with independent hemp/eco stores around the globe.

Hello gorgeous Upcycled Scarf Necklace! Welcome to the Daily Guff! This great fashion accessory comes to Guffly from the wonderful ladies at iram-inal designs. The company was founded by Mari and Lani Davis the incredible “Sister-Duo.”
Here’s what they say about themselves (we just thought it was too fun!):
Mari
the “iram” in iram-inal designs, and the other half of the “Sister-Duo,” Mari is responsible for the day-to-day creative decisions of the company, from devising new logos for our website and marketing materials, to brainstorming new, exciting, fashion-forward necklace designs, to choosing our color palettes for the season.
The original mind behind iram-inal designs, Mari works to create delicious designs from her home studio in St. Louis, Missouri… only when she’s not entertaining the masses with her crack-whip sense of humor, infectious laughter and vivacious energy.
truly the lifeblood behind the brand, Mari keeps us ahead of the curve with her creative designs.
Malene
one-half owner of the business, the “inal” in iram-inal, and little sister to Mari, Malene is the person
responsible for handling the day-to-day operations and general growth of the business.
a talented jewelry-maker in her own right, Malene credits her big sister for teaching her how to make jewelry after she learned how in Girl Scouts.
ever searching for new locations to carry their line, Malene often travels to introduce iram-inal to the masses, and spreads the team’s love of chunky, funky designs wherever she goes, often sprinkled with a bit of biting wit and a smile.
Malene produces and maintains the line full-time from her home studio in Atlanta, Georgia, where she resides with her very sweet and supportive husband, rescued dog and adopted kitties.
These particularly lovely creations are a collaboration between iram0inal team member and apparel designer, Shannon Edwards. We love that they are fashion forward and eco-friendly. Gift yourself or someone you love on the Daily Guff: http://guffly.com/

Unless you have been hibernating for the last year, you are sure to have seen an advertisement, blog, product, or campaign insisting that you must “Go Green!” With global warming and clean energy stirring up public debate, the eco-friendly movement has made quite the cultural comeback. Top designers, big box retailers, and small brands alike are fixated on marketing products that tug on your heart strings. From eco-friendly finds to fair trade fashions, caring about the Earth and the people on it has become an industry in and of itself. However, this renaissance of flower-child-like thinking begs the question: has the resurgence of “green” meant a reinvention of eco-style?
Unfortunately, the answer isn’t always a positive one. And depending on who you ask, a “hell, no” might be in order. The truth is that there’s a frightening amount of eco-don’ts floating out there–shapeless sack dresses, hideous hemp handbags, and plenty of men’s clothing that makes you want to say “kumbaya.” That’s the bad news. The good news: with a little commitment and a few tools to help you out, you can find stylish and modern clothing, accessories, handbags, and gadgets that are unsuspectingly eco friendly. These eco-stylish items range in price and style – making it easy for anyone with a fashion conscience to have an eco conscience as well.
To get you started on your eco-style endeavors, here’s a punch list of some of the great eco goodies out there and the places you can find them.
1. The boot (pictured above):
The Cassia Boot available at Terra Plana for $275. This adorable full-length flat boot features a unique print, a recycled sole, and memory foam lining for a genius amount of comfort. The faux wool lining comes in handy on the snowy or damp winter days. These boots prove that eco-friendly footwear doesn’t have to look like you’re going for a hike or hugging any trees on your way.
2. The bag:
The Buckle Up Tote available at Guffly for $70 (brand: Maggie Bags). This bag is not only sturdy, nicely lined, and stylish – it’s made from seatbelts discarded by people in the auto industry. Did you know that millions of yards of seatbelt webbing are trashed each year for simple variations in color? Crazy! I guess they were right; one man’s trash is another man’s adorable handbag.

3. The tee:
The Vital Bicycle available on Etsy for $26 (brand: Vital). Dress it up or dress it down, you can never go wrong with a creative graphic tee, especially one that is printed on 100 percent organic cotton. This comfy stylish t-shirt is not only organic, but also handmade.

4. The jewels:
The Skateboard Cuff Links and Broken Plate Pendant available at Guffly for $18-35. These unique pieces make great eco-friendly accents to a variety of ensembles. The Skateboard Cuff Links are made from recycled skateboards that would have been discarded. The Broken Plate Pendant comes from old and vintage dinner china. They both make perfect conversation pieces your friends won’t have!

5. The denim:
The Prophecy-Basin (men’s) and Kharma-Fjord (women’s) available at Loomstate for $158. These stylish denim pieces are made from 99 percent organic cotton. For you that means they’re just as comfy as your faves but don’t leave nasty chemicals in the earth or on your skin.
Chanell Scott is a new-school entrepreneur that has combined her love for Detroit, entrepreneurship, and sustainability into the business she co-founded–Guffly.com. Guffly is the stylish consumer’s source for unique and creative gifts that ease the conscience by being eco-friendly or fair trade. Together with business partner, Jordan Contreras, she came up with Guffly’s unique business model–a style-hunting internet retail store that features a new product every weekday in addition to its customers’ favorites and top sellers that are always available in the store’s “Top Guffs” catalog.

Well it’s safe to say that the 8th Annual Green Festival in San Francisco was a hit for Guffly! We came, we exhibited, we connected, and we had a blast. This was the first big event for the Guffly team and we think we held our own and established a unique presence at the huge festival.

Since Guffly is an online store, we don’t get to see the smiling faces of our lovely customers and being able to see the excitement and smiles that our products created was awesome. It seems that the Guffly perspective – living an eco-friendly lifestyle doesn’t mean you have to compromise your sense of style – is one that resonates with TONS of you! Thanks – we’re glad you like it!
Some customer favorites included:
Reusable Stainless Steel Razor Kit – men and women alike were thrilled to find an eco-friendly alternative to the disposable razor craziness! The flashy design sure makes it fun too.
Medium Seat Belt Tote – of course, we could have guessed this one based on the feedback we’ve already been getting. People are beyond impressed with the quality of craftsmanship and the functionality of this purse.
Fair Trade Shoes – we knew this but, we heard you all loud and clear: Stylish eco-friendly shoes are incredibly difficult to find! Guys and gals loved the design and humor in these shoes. We definitely are going to be scouting for more options…stay tuned!
Recycled Game Tile Tree Pendant – another online customer favorite held its own in person. These too cute pendants have eye catching designs that drew people in, then we told them to flip it over and they were surprised to find that it was a Scrabble tile!
We got a lot of “Thank Yous!” from people that were there searching for ways to be eco-friendly that felt comfortably in reach to them. There were also people living impressive green lifestyles that really enjoyed what we brought to the table. We think it’s safe to say that regardless of your “green-ness” or age there is something at Guffly for you. Plus with the availability of gift certificates (that’s right, we’re cool like that) and always $2 shipping it’s hard to beat Guffly for your eco-stylish shopping needs.
We also held a drawing ever other hour for one of our cool, eco-stylish products – the response was overwhelming. Winners are in the process of being notified and we appreciate everyone that stopped by to enter.
Something that we always want you folks to remember is we accept product suggestions anytime – just contact us. We also want to know if you are looking for a particular eco-friendly product and can’t find it…we’ll do the searching and work our hardest to find the best products for you.

The Guffly Team is thrilled to offer another broken plate pendant from The Broken Plate Pendant Company in Baltimore. Juliet is the talented artist that creates this awesome eco jewelry.
Juliet’s first new project was a simple, mosaic mailbox that repurposed all of the plates she had collected from thrift shops over the years. When the mailbox was complete, Ames was left with a pile of broken plate shards that were begging for a new life. She wrapped one in solder and made a pendant out of it. We say this was a brilliant move and now we can all rock a beautiful piece of vintage dishes!
We think her job must be pretty fun to break plates and create great pieces of jewelry, that’s part of why we wanted to offer another design from her collection. These Floral Broken Plate Pendants are fantastic gifts because it really is a one of a kind necklace – learn more and buy on the Daily Guff: http://guffly.com/
